I remember when I first started covering SEMCOG and transportation issues, one of my sources, an older guy pulled me aside and said off the record that it was never going to happen, not in the next 20 years. When I asked why, he said it was because the suburbanites would never create that kind of exit route for Detroiters. I've always hoped he was wrong about that, but after seeing different plans fall by the wayside year after year, he may have been on to something. Let's hope this is finally the move forward we've all been waiting for. Keep up the good coverage Echo.
