It is the "out of sight, out of mind" syndrom where people are not hearing the constant message of DO NOT LITTER! As a result you see tons of garbage on the road way. In my opinion the campaign should be re-run every five to ten years so that the message is continuously getting across to those who are just getting their driver's license, and any one else who - for whatever reason - didn't get the memo or has forgoten how to be responsible for their own trash! They should be told the second time that they will get a 500.00 fine and jail time. Everyone deserves a one time chance..You would learn better if you had to clean up the mess... These people come from the suburbs to dump this stuff instead of going to the garbage dump. I have seen rented Home Depot trucks pulled up to abandoned houses dumping there trash. How lazy is that. As I hike along the Rouge River and the woody area and I see alot of dumping and litter. The Highways are full of trash (at least I-275 west of AnnArbor Rd) I plan to let my Rep Richard LeBlanc know I appreciate his actions in co-sponsoring this bill I think this is a great idea. I agree that Detroit haves the most littering because no one even thinks about how people can get hurt by all of this. Detroit nedds to be more clean and people need to help and volunteer to clean up or world.
